Accounts & Passwords

Your Cal Poly account and password act as a key to many online services offered by the University such as Email, Calendar, WiFi, PolyLearn, and administrative tools.

Get Started

  • Applicants
    Visit the Admissions Access Help site to activate your account.
  • New Students, Faculty, or Staff
    Call or visit the Service Desk at (805) 756-7000 to request a temporary password.

Requesting Accounts

  • Applicants, Students, Faculty, and Staff:
    These accounts are automatically created for all people officially associated with the University.
  • Affiliates:
    These accounts are used to request a new account for an individual who is not officially associated with the University. These accounts must be paid for by the sponsoring Cal Poly organization. To request an account, log into your Cal Poly Portal and under your Single Click Links, select Technical Service Request:
    • Once logged in, select the Account Request tab at top of page. 
    • Fill in the Recipient Information section with either your information, or the information of the person you are requesting the account for.
    • Under Request Details:
      • Request Type: New Account
      • Request Sub-Type: Affiliated User Account (this will change the appearance of the SRS ticket)
    • Fill in all fields that are required (indicated with a red asterisk).
    • Once the account request is "Approved," the account will be automatically provisioned that night.
  • Department/Service Accounts:
    These accounts are used to request an organizational account for University departments, units, or services. To request an account, log into your Cal Poly Portal and under your Single Click Links, select Technical Service Request
    • Once logged in, select the Account Request tab at the top of the page.
    • Enter the Recipient Information section with either your information, or the information of the person you are requesting the account for.
    • Under Request Details:
      • Request Type: New Account
      • Request Sub-Type: Organizational Account (Department, Club, IRA).
    • Fill in all fields that are required (indicated with a red asterisk).
    • Complete the Account Administrator contact and Technical contact information, as these two employees are the only ones who can request changes to this account and/or obtain the password.
