Unfortunately things do go wrong with hardware on computers. Monitors, hard drives, floppy drives, and mice all malfunction eventually.
The Service Desk and ITS do not support personal computers owned by faculty, staff, or students. Problems on personal computers should be tackled by the manufacturer or vendor primarily. You can still follow the student link below for troubleshooting if your computer is not covered by any warranties.
